Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Download the Mattime app from the App Store or Google Play Store, then sign up with your email address. You'll be asked to set up your profile with your BJJ belt rank and training goals.

Is Mattime free to use?

Mattime offers both free and premium features. Basic tracking and community features are free, while advanced analytics and premium social features require a subscription. Check our pricing page for more details.

Tracking Your Training

How do I log a training session?

Open the app and tap the "+" button to start a new session. You can either start a live timer during your training or manually enter session details afterward. Include details like duration, type of training, and any notes about your session.

Can I edit or delete past training sessions?

Yes! Tap on any logged session in your history to edit the details or delete it if it was logged by mistake. Your total hours and statistics will be automatically updated.

What counts as "mat time"?

Any time spent actively training BJJ counts toward your mat time, including drilling, rolling, positional sparring, and technique practice. We recommend tracking actual training time rather than total time at the gym.

Community & Social Features

How do I connect with training partners?

Use the search feature to find friends by username or connect through QR codes at your gym. You can also join gym-specific groups to connect with your academy's community.

Can I make my training data private?

Absolutely! You have full control over your privacy settings. You can choose to share your progress with friends, keep it completely private, or share only certain statistics. Visit your profile settings to customize your privacy preferences.

How do leaderboards work?

Leaderboards show training frequency and consistency among your connections. They're designed to motivate and encourage rather than create pressure. You can opt out of leaderboards entirely in your privacy settings.

Goals & Progress

What is the 10,000 hours rule?

The 10,000 hours rule suggests that mastery in any skill requires approximately 10,000 hours of deliberate practice. Mattime helps you track your progress toward this milestone and celebrate smaller achievements along the way.

Can I set custom training goals?

Yes! You can set weekly, monthly, or yearly training goals. The app will track your progress and send gentle reminders to help you stay consistent with your training schedule.

Technical Issues

The app isn't syncing my data properly

First, make sure you have a stable internet connection and the latest version of the app. Try logging out and back in to refresh your data sync. If the problem persists, contact us at [email protected] with details about your device and the issue.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password" and enter your email address. We'll send you a secure link to reset your password. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder or contact support.

Can I use Mattime on multiple devices?

Yes! Your account syncs across all your devices. Simply log in with the same email address on each device, and your training data will be synchronized automatically.

Account & Data

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the app settings under "Account Management." This will permanently remove all your data from our servers. If you need assistance with account deletion, contact us at [email protected].

Can I export my training data?

Yes! Premium users can export their training data in CSV format from the app settings. Free users can request a data export by contacting our support team.
