What is Rolling Kimura in BJJ?
Quick Definition
A kimura attack that uses a rolling motion to finish or transition.
Full Explanation
The rolling kimura uses rotational momentum to finish the kimura shoulder lock or transition to other positions. From top or standing, you secure the kimura grip and roll your body over the opponent, using the momentum to break their grip defense. The rolling motion creates a different angle of attack that is harder to defend than a static kimura. It can also be used as an entry to back takes when the opponent rolls with you.
Examples in Context
"He rolled through with the kimura and finished on the other side"
"The rolling kimura caught me completely off guard"
