What is Inside Trip in BJJ?
Quick Definition
A takedown reaping the opponent's inside leg while pushing them over it.
Full Explanation
The inside trip is a clinch takedown where you place your foot behind the opponent's inside leg and push them over it using upper body pressure. Similar to ouchi gari in judo, the inside trip is effective in close range and does not require shooting. It is one of the safest takedowns in BJJ because you maintain close contact and can easily recover if it fails. Inside trips work well in combination with outside trips.
