What is IBJJF in BJJ?

The IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) is the largest and most prestigious BJJ competition organization. They run major tournaments including the World Championships (Mundials), Pan Americans, and European Championships. IBJJF has specific rules about techniques (no heel hooks until brown belt, no slams, etc.), gi colors, and ranking. While not the only competition format, IBJJF rules are the most commonly used standard in sport BJJ.
