Sledgehammer levering involves holding a sledgehammer at the end of the handle and controlling its tilt forward, backward, and to the sides. This exercise builds tremendous wrist and forearm strength through leverage. The wrist control it develops is directly applicable to wrist fighting in grappling.

- 1 Hold a sledgehammer at the end of the handle with one hand.
- 2 Extend your arm forward at shoulder height.
- 3 Slowly tilt the hammer head forward using wrist control.
- 4 Return to vertical using wrist strength.
- 5 Tilt the hammer backward and return.
- 6 Tilt side to side.
- 7 Repeat all directions.
